Following contributions from Luca Font, J. Demsky, and Joys, on April 1, 2025, the official opening of the museum will be inaugurated by Peeta with Explicit Dynamics. Peeta is one of the most renowned urban artists, known for transforming simple walls into three-dimensional geometric illusions. With his monumental work on the faade of one of the Brescia metro depot buildings and the decoration of an entire train, Peeta brings a moving artwork to the new museum for the first time: a mural that, with its distinctive use of fluid shapes and interwoven volumes, seems to explode from the surface, redefining the perception of architectural space. Launched in 2023 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Brescias metro and the year of Brescia Bergamo as the Capital of Culture, the Metro Urban Museum aims to bring the most authentically contemporary art forms to the city and serve as an expressive tool for transforming spaces. It seeks to enhance the perception of urban environments and encourage visitors to reflect on current social themes. USEFUL INFORMATION: The Metro Urban Museum is open to the public by reservation. "For the entire day of Thursday 2 March, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., there will be a desk inside each of the 17 stations where our dedicated staff will distribute a special, limited-edition ticket: it will give people the chance to travel for free on the subway on Sunday 5 March. "Completing the subway celebrations will be Luca Font, an internationally renowned street artist and a leading name in the contemporary art scene, who will decorate one of the subway maintenance buildings at the Via Magnolini depot. The work will begin shortly, but the artists style can already be admired on the bodywork of a train that has been set up, for the first time, also on the external bodywork: to allow art to be enjoyed not only inside the subway stations, but also while travelling. "Finally, the occasion of the subways important anniversary, as well as the year in which Brescia is the Italian Capital of Culture, was taken to publish Arte in Metro, a photographic volume in which the ten years of the subway are recounted through the eyes and works of the artists who have contributed - and will contribute - to making it a true museum of contemporary art.
